Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Ayn continues running blindly, feeling as if the flames were licking at her heels. Around her the trees seem to grow even taller and wider, and the heat from the fire felt as if it was burning her back.

Gale 07-28-2004 04:49 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara snarls at Cloud. "Says the one who has fought to harm Ayn in the past."
__
Suddenly the forest infront of Ayn is incinerated. The entire ground is scorched and the trees are instantly burned to ashes. Legion stands across from Ayn, smiling. In a flick of his wrist the ground above Ayn rises, stretching above the red clouds. Once she reaches a point so high the ground is invisible, a gigantic form of Legion appears, as if he was the sky. "Now, it's time you realize something. Despite how absolutely weak you are, you've managed to murder countless people. Do you realize that?"

Ayn 07-28-2004 04:51 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Ayn stares blankly below her, then looks up at Legion, gulping. She waves her arms in the air, trying to get away, and ignoring his question.

Cloud 07-28-2004 04:52 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Cloud looks over at Lara and spits. "You know why that happened just as well as I do. Don't bring up Havoc around me ever again, understand?" With that Cloud storms off down the hall and into the courtyard. It was still faintly raining, but no where near as hard as it was. He held the hilt of his old buster sword and muttered a few words to Gale and One's grave, cooling down his anger

Gale 07-28-2004 05:15 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Legion seems annoyed and part of Ayn's platform crumbles. "YOU killed the inhabitants of Blythandor and YOU killed your brother. You're a weak minded murderess. You didn't even have the strength to fight a weak demon to save your hometown, and instead of trying to save your brother from the anguish filling him, you destroyed him. All you've done is destroy. You're just as much of a monster as me!"

Ayn 07-28-2004 05:19 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Ayn stumbles and plops on the ground, tears filling her eyes. "I.. I didn't know.. Nobody knew.." Tears run freely down her cheeks.

Gale 07-28-2004 05:31 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

The clouds part and Legion descends on to the platform, grinning from ear to ear. "Maybe so, but you could of beaten Gale, subdued him. You knew he acted out of pain. You knew you could of saved him if you tried. Just like you know that I'm right in saying you're a wretched, evil being." Legion's claw shoots forward, wraping itself around Ayn's throat and lifting her up. "So that's why I think we should begin to get more aquainted in our new bond." Legion slams Ayn into the platform shattering it to pebbles. The two fall into the sky, Legion's laughter echoing downward.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin looks on as Cloud walks away. He turns to Lara, then back down to Ayn, who still hasn't shown any signs of coming back to normal. "Hmm. . "

Ayn 07-28-2004 05:48 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

She doesn't scream as she falls, rather, she stares blankly up at the sky, in too much shock to really struggle. The only thing she can hear is Legion's words echoing in her head, telling her how much of a monster she is. She mentally nods in agreement and closes her eyes.

Suddenly, without warning an invisible force grabs Legion and he shoots upward and out of sight, leaving Ayn to fall by herself. Almost as quickly as Legion disappears the ground appears and Ayn slows, and she gently hits the ground. The environment echoes with a struggle of some sort, with snarling and long strings of cusses. Memories swirl around above her, moving too quickly for her to make out anything specific, and then Blythandor returns to its normal state.

Back in reality, Ayn gasps, clutching the edge of the couch cushion and quickly returning back to reality.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Just when Gin is about to turn around to get a chair, he sees Ayn move. He grabs her hand, trying to get her to calm down. "Ayn, Ayn! What happened?" He looks up at Lara. "Get her some water. Quickly."

Gale 07-28-2004 05:59 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara nods and runs to get some water.

At the same moment, Legion 'teleports' into the room as if he's been thrown and crashes into a bookcase. The demon slowly rises and fumes.
"...Wha...No...NO! I was so close! I broke her!!!"

Ayn 07-28-2004 06:06 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

After a few seconds another figure appears, wearing an all-too familiar scowl on his face. He snarls and moves so swiftly he appears to be nothing more than a blur, and he now has Legion by the throat and against the wall. He speaks with a low, acid-filled tone that could cut through solid metal. "I will not let another of your kind take my daughter from me again, do you understand me, Demon?"

Meanwhile, Ayn has returned to reality completely. She blinks once or twice, then shivers, whimpering slightly.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Before he even got a chance to react to Legion, he saw the other person, to which Gin stopped dead in his tracks. Speechless. "V-Vorena.....?" He couldn't believe his own words. "But. . how?"

Gale 07-28-2004 06:17 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara runs in and hears Gin's exclamation, dropping the glass of water. "Ayn's...father?"

Legion snarls at the man before he realizes who he is. "Y...you?! But Rand said he had you killed!" Legion desperately tries to escape. He knew there was no force greater than someone protecting their child.

Ayn 07-28-2004 06:25 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena snarls again, his grip tightening around Legion's throat. With his other hand he strikes the side of Legion's head and moves his hand holding Legion in the opposite direction of the hit. A sickening snap echoes through the room.

Satisfied, he drops the body and waves a hand. Legion rises into the air and in a blur is hurled out a nearby open window. Vorena then turns to face the others, an acid filled scowl on his face. He's not pleased, the Demon will most likely be back.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin still couldn't believe it. He stood there, not moving. What could he have done? A friendly gesture such as a hug or handshake? Last time these two Abbis saw each other, Avalon shunned Vorena out of the race. "Vorena. . . --" He was about to ask what he was doing here, but probably knew the answer already. Instead, he left it at just simply saying his name.

Ayn 07-28-2004 07:38 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena glances at Avalon, an eyebrow arched. "Avalon.. What sort of madness has descended upon our family?" He brushes the dirty blond going silver hair out of his eyes, which were narrow slits that were now focused on his only daughter.

Ayn, meanwhile had sat up and was staring off into space, not really paying attention to the others in the room.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin clears his throat, trying to regain his composure. He told himself that if he had the chance to find Vorena, he'd settle everything. So he can't act coldly right now. "Yes. . what kind of madness. . " He sees Vorena look at Ayn. Figuring it's best for him to leave them alone, he turns and calls to Lara, beckoning her to join him outside, for something to drink.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara nods and follows Gin.

Ayn 07-28-2004 08:14 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena walks up to Ayn, reaching over to put a hand on her shoulder. He immediately backs off when Ayn squeaks and shrinks away from his touch. He doesn't seem bothered by it, however. "I understand, Ayn." He turns away, hands jammed in his pocket and his eyes gazing around the many bookcases.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin is in the kitchen with Lara. He takes a drink from his hip flask. "I haven't been this nervous in years. Not even confronting Ayn." He sighs. "But theres no reason to be nervous. I have a few things I want to discuss with him anyway." He looks at her. "What do you think of him?"

Gale 07-28-2004 09:11 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara sips her drink. "What do I think? One, he's not one to mess with. He also has a passing resemblance to Gale."

Ayn 07-28-2004 09:45 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena picks up a book and leafs through it, although he doesn't seem particularly interested in its contents. After a few minutes he sets it down on a desk and glances into the other room where Gin and Lara were sitting. However, he doesn't enter, rather he sits down on a large seat and runs a hand through his hair.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin only nods to Lara. He then looks out into the library seeing Vorena and Ayn, he figures it's safe to go back in. Gin walks towards Vorena, eyeing the book he put down. "It has been a long time, brother." He looks up at Ayn, who is still on the couch. Gin then pulls up a chair for himself, across Vorena.

Ayn 07-28-2004 11:12 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena nods curtly. "So it has." He glances back at Ayn, who was curled up on the couch and watching them with vacant eyes. "She's still in shock. I'm going to stay until she snaps out of it."

Da_#1_Link 07-28-2004 11:17 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Does that mean you'll be leaving soon?" Gin drinks from his flask again. "'Cause it'd be a shame. We wouldn't be able to. . catch up."

Ayn 07-28-2004 11:24 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena seems slightly taken aback by this. "You wish to catch up? ..Very well, I suppose." He leans back and looks at Avalon, hair sliding in front of one of his eyes. He brushes it out of the way and watches intently, waiting for Avalon to begin speaking.

Da_#1_Link 07-28-2004 11:39 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin relaxes. He was now completely calm. He regained his original composure, his cool calm from before Vorena showing up. After all, these were two 'Dons,' so to speak, of an Ancient race. No need to be afraid, nothing was about to attack them. Their presence alone kept anything and anyone at bay. "I'm sure you too have felt it. The waning aura of the family. It was the reason I came. Pay my respects to my sons. I even tried to explain everything to Ayn. I told her, if I had the chance, I'd make amends with you also. It's sad that we had to meet after all these family deaths."

Ayn 07-29-2004 12:17 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin Vorena sighs slightly, his expression vacant. "It is unfortunate that our sons have met an early end, although.. I am afraid I cannot find much remorse over the loss of the Onarav." There was quite a bit of irony in his words considering the striking resemblance. However, it was Gale who had killed Vorena's wife, Yolanda, so Vorena's lack of remorse made some sort of sense. "It is terrible that none of us attempted to bring the family together before it was too late. I understand that Gale and Ayn did not get along."

Vorena shifts his position. "Tell me Avalon, what has become of our children? How did it come to this?"

Da_#1_Link 07-29-2004 12:43 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"It is understandable how you felt about the young Gale." Gin stops to ponder Vorena's question. "I don't know all the details. I've been told it started out with a girl. I don't know her name, nor of what race she was. She died, murdered supposedly. This sent young Gale over the edge. He began planning to destroy the universe, I'm not sure how. Others fought to stop it, Ayn and One included." He shoots a quick glance at Lara. "Jekin lost his life. Gale killed One, and Ayn killed Gale. There were other deaths, but not Abbissians."

"However, it seems Ayn found out she was Abbissian, and related to the Gins through a man named Rand. That demon you sent flying out of here works for him. I'm not sure how this Rand person knew though." He then remembered something else. "What was that earlier? Was the Demon in Ayn's mind? If do, no wonder I couldn't sense him."

Ayn 07-29-2004 12:58 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena is silent for a few moments, soaking this information in. He rests his chin in a hand, the elbow propped on the nearby desk. His other hand brushes the hair out of his eyes again.

After a few moments he suddenly seems to remember he was asked a question. "The demon had entered her mind, yes. I am lucky I got there when I did, he was just about to take over completely."He sighs. "The demon was putting the poor child through terrible things. It is understandable that she still hasn't recovered."

Ayn, meanwhile, had gotten up and was heading towards the kitchen.

Da_#1_Link 07-29-2004 01:24 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin nods. He then gets up, standing in front of Vorena. "How did things ever get so far? He asked this rhetorically. "It was so unfortunate, so unnecessary." He paused and looked away. "I'm glad I still have my health, and life at my age. He turns back to Vorena and sighs. Perhaps, as younger Abbis, Onarav and I were too rash, too headstrong, I don't say no to that. Anyway, just let me say I was disappointed with your decision to part from the Abbis. We're a warrior race, and look down on such acts. But I shouldn't have acted the way I did."

"I'm willing to make the peace. We lost family members, we are quits. What would the world come to if people kept carrying grudges against all reason? It's foolishness. So I say now, let things change."

"Because then what manner of men are we, if we do not have our reason? We are all no better than beasts who roam the jungle if that were the case. But we have reason, we can reason with each other, and we can reason with ourselves. To what purpose would we continue these troubles, the violence and turmoil? I give my honor, and will leave here with a pure heart."

He opens his arms, for a hug. "Be my friend, and be my brother."

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara watches Ayn enter and nods to her as she speaks in a soft voice. "Hey Ayn. We were worried about you."

Ayn 07-29-2004 01:42 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena nods and stands up, apparently moved by Avalon's speech. "Very well, brother. I am more than willing to end this silly fued; our children have suffered more than enough because of it." The two men embrace and finally the fighting between the Gins has come to somewhat of a conclusion.

Ayn jumps at the sound of Lara's voice, and stares at her wide-eyed.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

After they part, Gin sits down again. "Since we are on the subject of family here, I don't suppose you've had any word from Onarav lately?"

Gale 07-29-2004 05:54 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Lara doesn't understand Ayn's suprise in hearing her. "What's wrong? It's me, Lara."

Ayn 07-29-2004 06:15 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Vorena shakes his head, now looking through a stack of books that was on the table. "I cannot say I've heard from either of you ever since I left."

Ayn looks at Lara inquisitively, then shakes her head. "Sorry.."

Gale 07-29-2004 06:33 PM

Lara frowns, worried about her friend. "Are you ok?"

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gin looks around, he looks down the hall where the courtyard is, wondering if the Strife kid was still there. "I haven't heard from Onarav either." He paused. "I'm sure you noticed it, but how come I cannot sense you? Nor can I sense Onarav? It's something I was wondering when I was talking to Ayn and I didn't even know if you were alive."

Cloud 07-29-2004 06:54 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Cloud walks into the kitchen, wet from the rain. He gave a passing glance to Ayn and ignored Lara. He only grabbed a bottle of vodka from the freezer and sat himself down in the library away from the two abbisians. He wondered in his head who the new man was, but he had at least one of two gusses right. He started down the bottle, paying close attention to the conversation.
